MICMA Legal implemented for Mentor Corporation

Client: www.mentorcorp.com

Recently, we have successfully upgraded Mentor Corporation’s Legal Department to use MICMA Legal. IT infrastructure of the company was upgraded to use new SQL Server 2005 and all the workstations were being upgraded to use new Microsoft Windows Vista. Old software was not supported on Vista and Mentor decided to switch to web based MICMA Legal solution as new platform for legal department. We have completed the whole project from the estimation through setting up a test environment and final conversion within 4 months. This was the fastest conversion we ever had. We were able to complete such a quick conversion mainly due to very professional and prompt cooperation with Mentor’s IT department.

Automated Battery Charger (ABC) Control Software designed for Lockheed Martin

Client: www.lockheedmartin.com

In partnership with Input/Output Technology Inc. we have designed and implemented “Smart” Automated Battery Charger System (ABC) for Lockheed Martin. We were involved in the design, implementation, setup and acceptance testing processes. Full set of technical documentation including UML hierarchy and sequence diagrams, database diagrams describing the database schema and general software design document reflecting all aspects of the system was created and provided by Margasoft. Special simulation and testing software applications were created to enable component level thorough tests of each separate module of ABC. Specific applications were created to test data acquisition boards.

More about ABC System

The charging station including complete hardware and software was designed from scratch. Margasoft was working on the software part of the system. The system was designed in a way where centralized computer with ABC software controls and monitors 4 simultaneous charging processes through 8 separate RS-232 channels (2 channels per charging station: one for controlling charger and one for monitoring state of the battery) . Due to military requirements and the nature of the problem the application was implemented as multithreaded embedded windows application, where software was locking all the access to the windows operating system and controlling windows startup and shutdown processes. Software contained the following features:
  • Complete access rights management where every action in the system required authentication and all the records and actions were logged against the logged in user;
  • Complete reporting coverage of every charging action and state of the battery during the charge;
  • Battery information export and import between disconnected charging stations;
  • Hardware Calibration utilities;
  • Power failure handling and recovery;

SQL Server Migration for Pacific IPA

Client: www.pacificipa.net

In partnership with ATV Network Consulting we have completed several migration projects for Pacific IPA upgrading their database systems with the data and application to new server machines. The work was done diligently and the switch over was smooth and transparent to whole organization. We have analyzed and reverse engineered all the data and legacy applications on the server. We have created plan with specific milestones and test phases. After the new servers were tested and verified we have completed the switch over during the weekend and from next business week whole organization was functioning on new hardware with no issues.
